Especially in USA, the lotteries are played in dozens of special and interesting ways. We look at some of the common rules that are followed in most of these lottery systems.
1. You must fall in the eligible age group: You, as a player, need to meet the age criteria, specified by the lottery organizers. In most cases, you are expected to be at least 16 to 21 years of age in order to participate.
2. You receive a ticket or slip: The game actually starts once you have received a ticket, or probably a slip. The ticket contains a series of boxes arranged in rows and columns. The boxes contain numbers ranging from 1 to 49
3. You choose your numbers: You are required to choose six numbers of your choice. The boxes of your choice must be marked clearly, usually with a cross over the selected box. In few other variations of the game, you can use multiple sets of numbers at once. Alternatively you could get your numbers chosen randomly by the computer. It can save you time, and help you prevent any indecisions.
4. Fill in all your necessary information: Details like your name, address, type of game played, etc, must be correctly filled into the ticket. This information is very important to enable the lottery authorities to contact you in case you win.
5. Handover your ticket: Once you have completed you ticket, you could either hand it over to your retailer, or submit it into a terminal device. You will be handed over a print out, specifying the selections made by you. When the draw comes up, you must remember to check your numbers.
6. Check if you are a winner: Even if three or four of your chosen numbers appear in the draw, you win a prize. The more number of your chosen numbers appear in the draw; the better is the price you get.
Lottery playing can be fun and if you are lucky enough, then it can also fetch you a lot of money with no effort at all.
